{"id":167595,"date":"2024-04-13T12:29:54","date_gmt":"2024-04-13T12:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=167595"},"modified":"2024-04-13T12:29:54","modified_gmt":"2024-04-13T12:29:54","slug":"why-do-nigerians-seize-every-chance-to-criticize-a-grieving-widow-mary-njoku","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/04\/13\/why-do-nigerians-seize-every-chance-to-criticize-a-grieving-widow-mary-njoku\/","title":{"rendered":"Why do Nigerians seize every chance to criticize a grieving widow \u2013 Mary Njoku"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Mary Njoku has slammed netizens who blame the death of some men on their widows, particularly on social media.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">The actress seemed to be referring to the incidents which have become rampant on social media amongst celebrities who tragically lost their lives like Mohbad, Junior Pope. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Many quickly pointed accusing fingers at their widows, the latest being JP who died in a boat mishap.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nigerian filmmaker cum actress, Mary Remmy Njoku has thrown a question at Nigerians.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The mother of three, via her Instagram page, questioned why Nigerians seize every chance to criticize grieving widows, accusing them of playing a part in their partner\u2019s death \u2014 from Mohbad\u2019s wife, and now Junior Pope\u2019s wife.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/03\/09\/my-halo-actress-mary-njoku-credits-hubby-as-she-makes-2023-forbes-women-list\/\">Mary Njoku noted how<\/a> even when a husband dies in a plane crash along with other victims, some will still find a way to blame it on the wife, believing that she orchestrated it spiritually.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She sarcastically quoted their popular saying that, \u201c<em>She frustrated him and he boarded the flight to find peace in the air\u201d<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mary Njoku wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWhy do Nigerians seize every chance to criticize a grieving widow?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Even in cases where a husband dies in a plane crash along with 100 other victims, some will suggest that the wife orchestrated it spiritually.<br \/>\nShe frustrated him and he boarded the flight to find peace in the air\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This is coming hours after a Twitter user, identified as Papi Jnr made a strong allegation against Junior Pope\u2019s wife, Jennifer Awele, accusing her of sleeping with rich men.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a since-deleted tweet, he claimed that the event planner had frustrated the actor and their marriage had been on edge before the news of his death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">His tweet coincides with that of Junior Pope\u2019s colleague and friend, Dave Ogbeni\u2019s revelation that all wasn\u2019t well with the actor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Dave had shared his last encounter with Junior Pope, alleging that the actor had cried out to him that he was dying slowly and wanted to share his story with bloggers, but he convinced him not to.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Many found the news unbelievable as they noted how family-oriented Junior Pope and his wife were.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In July 2023, Junior Pope and his wife celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary with a loved-up photo and sweet words.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Junior Pope admitted that their journey hasn\u2019t been easy, but they trudge on trusting God to guide their every step.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mary Njoku has slammed netizens who blame the death of some men on their widows, particularly on social media.
