{"id":168201,"date":"2024-04-18T16:41:51","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T16:41:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=168201"},"modified":"2024-04-18T19:24:02","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T19:24:02","slug":"court-orders-mohbads-wife-to-conduct-dna-test-on-son-liam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/04\/18\/court-orders-mohbads-wife-to-conduct-dna-test-on-son-liam\/","title":{"rendered":"Lagos Court reportedly orders Mohbad\u2019s wife to conduct DNA test on son, Liam"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>Following extensive back-and-forth between Mohbad&#8217;s wife and father regarding the DNA test concerning the singer&#8217;s son, Liam, a Lagos court has finally taken a bold stance to address the lingering issue head-on.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>In the midst of this heated dispute, the Aloba family has vehemently contested the paternity of baby Liam and has officially lodged an application before the Family Court. <\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Their petition seeks to compel Wunmi to appear alongside baby Liam at any accredited laboratory in Lagos for a comprehensive DNA test.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Ikorodu Chief Magistrate Court in Lagos State has granted an order for Wunmi, the widow of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, to be notified of the pending DNA test application through alternative means.<\/p>\n<p>This directive was issued after the legal team representing the Aloba family, spearheaded by Emmanuel Oroko, encountered numerous futile attempts to personally serve Wunmi.<\/p>\n<p>Monisola Odumosu, a member of the family&#8217;s legal team, outlined in a statement that they petitioned for approval to deliver all legal documentation to Wunmi&#8217;s last known address.<\/p>\n<p>The application, initiated by Joseph Aloba, the deceased singer&#8217;s father, is geared towards moving forward with the DNA testing process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;If the process were served on the last-known address of the respondent by Order of the Court, it would constitute good service and she would be aware of the pending suit. The Chief Magistrate granted the order and ordered that the respondent be served by posting the court process on her last known address.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cIt will be recalled that the Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and filed an application before the Family Court wherein it sought an order of the court against Wunmi to present herself and baby Liam for a DNA test at any recognised laboratory in Lagos,<\/strong>\u201d the statement quoted Odumosu as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The statement referenced that the singer\u2019s wife, in a viral video, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2023\/11\/23\/why-mohbads-wife-is-yet-to-conduct-dna-test-on-son-iyabo-ojo-shares-reason-for-the-delay-video\/\">said she was ready for a DNA test<\/a>, noting that she had never been available for the court sheriff to serve her the originating motion.<\/p>\n<p>On their part, Wunmi\u2019s lawyer, Taiwo Olawanle denied knowledge of the court order.<\/p>\n<p>Olawanle, however, stated that when they finally get the court order, it wouldn\u2019t be a problem to have Wunmi comply.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Following extensive back-and-forth between Mohbad&#8217;s wife and father regarding the DNA test concerning the singer&#8217;s son, Liam, a Lagos court has finally taken a bold stance to address the lingering issue head-on.
