{"id":171603,"date":"2024-05-16T06:46:01","date_gmt":"2024-05-16T06:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=171603"},"modified":"2024-05-16T06:46:01","modified_gmt":"2024-05-16T06:46:01","slug":"portable-regains-freedom-after-meeting-bail-condition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/05\/16\/portable-regains-freedom-after-meeting-bail-condition\/","title":{"rendered":"Portable regains freedom after meeting bail condition"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Portable has finally regained his freedom after he was forcibly arrested by the police on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">This was over the 30 year old\u2019s alleged refusal to complete the payment for his G-Wagon which he purchased from a Lagos car dealer. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">As at Wednesday afternoon, he was yet to be released for not meeting his bail conditions.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Nigerian musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has regained his freedom from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Portable was forcefully arrested on Tuesday, May 14 over his alleged refusal to complete payment for his luxury car, the G-Wagon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The \u2018Zazzu\u2019 crooner had purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos), a car dealer in Lagos but failed to complete the payment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It was gathered that Portable had paid only N13 million after purchasing the vehicle, which was worth N27 million. He was said to have refused to pay the N14 million balance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When confronted by the police, the singer jumped a gate and made an attempt to escape but was eventually caught by the officers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">According to the Lagos State Police Command\u2019s spokesman, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/05\/15\/portable-fails-to-meet-bail-conditions-remains-in-police-custody\/\">Benjamin Hundeyin on Wednesday afternoon, May 15, the singer will remain in detention pending when he\u2019s able to produce a reliable surety<\/a> before he can be granted bail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hundeyin said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cHe has presented no reliable surety yet so he (Portable) is still with us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On Wednesday evening, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benajmin Hundeyin, confirmed the release of the singer to Vanguard. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When asked if Portable had sorted out the issues, the spokesman added, \u201c<em><strong>I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he has been granted bail.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>In mid April, following Bobrisky&#8217;s jail sentence, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/04\/16\/bobrisky-forgive-me-for-spraying-money-on-my-fans-portable-pleads-with-efcc-in-viral-video\/\">Portable begged for forgiveness over videos of him spraying money in different circumstances, particularly on his fans.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Zeh Nation label boss, in a trending video, who seems to be scared of the repercussions, vowed not to spray money in public. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/04\/16\/bobrisky-forgive-me-for-spraying-money-on-my-fans-portable-pleads-with-efcc-in-viral-video\/\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Portable Zazu also urged his fans and followers to open bank accounts as he would only be dealing with transfers henceforth. <\/span><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Portable has finally regained his freedom after he was forcibly arrested by the police on Tuesday.
