However, as he matured, he encountered a different reality beyond his family&#8217;s bubble.<\/p>\n<p>He said:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI grew up in a religious home. Both my mum and dad were pastors. My mum had a school. She was a psychologist. So I grew up in a religious background. I started my music career as a church drummer and keyboardist.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;\u201cWhen I was really young, I believed in love so much because of what I used to see between my parents, before I grew up and saw the world is a lot different than that.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cMy family was a very closed one until everybody got busy with life. And life happened. My mum is late now. We lost her to cancer. It happened a while ago. I\u2019m over it now.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In an earlier interview, Young John had revealed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/08\/15\/how-my-mother-helped-transform-my-career-young-john\/\">how his mother helped transformed his career.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a chat with TV host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Young John disclosed that as a kid he was shy and had social anxiety which deprived him of so many things.
