This is why I stopped talking to my biological mother. I was 32 years old and my sister got out of prison and I was the only one trying to help her with accommodation and other stuff,\u201d<\/em><\/strong> he recalled.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c<strong><em>So, we had a family meeting but my biological mother showed up with her new husband. The intervention was going okay. When it ended, we all hugged and because we haven\u2019t been around each other for years someone said, \u2018This is so beautiful. This is what a family should be doing.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><em>&#8220;And I said this is not about us, this is about my sister who just got released. After I said that, my mother\u2019s new husband yelled, \u2018What you need to do, is call your mama sometimes.\u2019 I said, \u2018Sir, I don\u2019t know who you are but she\u2019s the mother, I\u2019m the child.\u2019 And he said, \u2018Yeah, but you call yourself a Christian.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><em>&#8220;The argument got heated and my mother did something that crushed my heart. She grabbed his hand and said, \u2018Come on, baby, let\u2019s go.\u2019 And she walked out of the house with her two kids. And I yelled at my mama, \u2018That\u2019s right, go ahead and walk out like you always do.\u2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong><em>&#8220;For the fact that she didn\u2019t take that man\u2019s hand and say, \u2018Baby, stay away. This is between me and my kids. Kids I did not raise, kids I did not nurture, kids I did not provide for, kids I did not protect.\u2019 She took that man\u2019s hand and walked out with him.
