However, she also acknowledged that the current generation&#8217;s approach to relationships is flawed.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_185337\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-185337\" style=\"width: 421px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-185337\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_20240831-161641.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"421\" height=\"858\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_20240831-161641.jpg 421w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/08\/Screenshot_20240831-161641-147x300.jpg 147w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 421px) 100vw, 421px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-185337\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Toke Makinwa<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She noted that material possession are often prioritized over people and that the notion of community and collective support has been eroded.<\/p>\n<p>Toke expressed concern that the emphasis on individual success and social media presentation has led to a culture of disposability, where <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/07\/24\/jibola-dabo-and-i-lived-together-till-our-son-clocked-2-ayo-mogaji-speaks-on-relationship-with-actorvideo\/\">people are no longer invested in meaningful relationships.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>She argued that this approach is unsustainable and that a shift towards valuing people is necessary for true happiness and fulfillment.<\/p>\n<p>Toke encouraged her audience to rethink their priorities and work towards building stronger, more supportive relationships.<\/p>\n<p>She wrote:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong><em>Funny how the narrative out there is that I hate men or I\u2019m a man basher, etc. I\u2019m a huge advocate for marriage cos 2 is better than 1. The way this generation is set up though\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>We use people and value things. It should be the other way around. We used to value people, and things were to be used. Our generation is moving like everyone is replaceable, we stopped investing in people cos we all think we can find better.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Everyone moves like our material things and what society has made us think is real success is what we need to invest in. Way back, it took a community to raise kids, not anymore, our walls are so high.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>We care more about what we put out; everyone is all about \u201cI\u201d and the few who are not getting involved with those who are and it ends up being one-sided. People picking their peace of mind over a collective Peace for all can\u2019t work.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Until we begin to fix sadly, a lot of people will settle for life alone with peace over trying to exist in periodic happiness and disposable interaction.
