{"id":187660,"date":"2024-09-16T12:16:52","date_gmt":"2024-09-16T12:16:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=187660"},"modified":"2024-09-16T12:16:52","modified_gmt":"2024-09-16T12:16:52","slug":"portable-apologizes-for-slapping-preacher-after-3-day-ultimatum-video","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/09\/16\/portable-apologizes-for-slapping-preacher-after-3-day-ultimatum-video\/","title":{"rendered":"Portable apologizes for slapping preacher after 3-day ultimatum [VIDEO]"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Portable has apologized for slapping a preacher who was at his bar to preach.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">The incident which took place days back stirred uproar from netizens with many blaming the controversial act. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">In a turn of events, Portable who earlier called himself a man of God apologized for his actions, giving reasons on why he was provoked.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Controversial street-pop star, Portable, has begged for forgiveness after he slapped a pastor who came to preach at his bar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Recall that the singer was a few days ago caught on camera slapping a pastor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Following the attack, Portable faced backlash from netizens\u2019 and other preachers who threatened to take action against him for assaulting a man of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Amongst them was Gospel artiste, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/09\/13\/gospel-singer-testimony-jaga-gives-portable-3-day-ultimatum-to-apologise-for-slapping-preacher\/\">Testimony Jaga whose response publicly condemned the act in a post shared on his instagram page on Friday. <\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Jaga expressed that if the pastor had indeed done something wrong, the proper course of action would have been to involve the authorities, rather than Portable taking matters into his hands.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The gospel singer ended his statement by warning that if Portable fails to apologise within three days, there could be further consequences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, addressing the controversy in a video he shared in the midnight on Monday, Portable attributed his actions to past experience.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While begging God for forgiveness, he explained that he attacked the preacher because he thought he was there to cause him spiritual harm. In Portable\u2019s words:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMy fans, community issues are different from that of the street. May God forgive me. I didn\u2019t know he was a genuine man of God. If I knew I wouldn\u2019t have slapped him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI\u2019m also a child of God. I\u2019m human, I\u2019m not perfect. I am an orphan.
