{"id":189020,"date":"2024-09-25T07:27:06","date_gmt":"2024-09-25T07:27:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=189020"},"modified":"2024-09-25T07:27:06","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T07:27:06","slug":"bobrisky-issues-disclaimer-following-claims-of-bribing-efcc-officers-with-n15m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/09\/25\/bobrisky-issues-disclaimer-following-claims-of-bribing-efcc-officers-with-n15m\/","title":{"rendered":"Bobrisky issues disclaimer following claims of bribing EFCC officers with N15m"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Bobrisky has refuted claims that he bribed some EFCC officials with the sum of N15m to have his money laundering case dismissed.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">An audio had gone viral with claims that the crossdresser was opening up to someone else about not truly going to prison and bribery.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has denied a bribery allegation levelled against him by a social media influencer, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/09\/24\/how-bobrisky-bribed-efcc-with-n15m-to-drop-money-laundering-charge-vdm-exposes-implicates-falz-and-dad\/\">viral audio<\/a> released by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky alleged that some unnamed Economic and Financial Crimes Commission operatives collected N15 million from him to drop money laundering charges against him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Bobrisky was initially arraigned on six charges bordering on naira abuse and money laundering to the tune of N127,780,877.98.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The money was said to have been paid into his company\u2019s account number 2830002929, domiciled in Eco Bank Plc, between September 2021 and April 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, the offence was dropped following a prayer by the counsel for the EFCC, Suleiman Suleiman.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He had told the court that the commission had entered into an agreement with Bobrisky.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reacting to the viral audio in a statement on Tuesday, the EFCC\u2019s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, said the Commission\u2019s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had ordered an immediate investigation into the matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">However, in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning, September 25, Bobirsky denied bribing any EFCC officer to drop money laundering charges against him, saying that he served his jail term.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The controversial social media sensation also described the viral voice recording as fake, stressing that the claim that he was never in prison was false and should be ignored.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Bobrisky wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMy attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira, and that I was never in prison\u2026 I didn\u2019t pay any EFCC money, is a very big lie. I served my term in full, and I came out.
