{"id":192287,"date":"2024-10-18T19:58:44","date_gmt":"2024-10-18T19:58:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=192287"},"modified":"2024-10-18T20:00:13","modified_gmt":"2024-10-18T20:00:13","slug":"police-clears-lizzy-anjorin-gold-theft-accusation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/10\/18\/police-clears-lizzy-anjorin-gold-theft-accusation\/","title":{"rendered":"Police Clears Lizzy Anjorin \u00a0Gold Theft \u00a0Accusation"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li><strong>SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for Lagos state police, revealed that Lizzy Anjorin has been cleared of theft accusation, in a recent conversation with Punch.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>According to Hundeyin, the gold seller gave Lizzy Anjorin wrong account information for a N90,000 transfer, with one digit being off.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal has been cleared of accusations regarding gold theft at Oba Akintoye Market in Lagos Island in February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for Lagos state police, the investigation revealed a misunderstanding.<\/p>\n<p>The incident involved a transfer mix-up, with the gold seller providing incorrect account information.<\/p>\n<p>Anjorin-Lawal transferred the funds despite the error, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2024\/02\/07\/alleged-theft-lizzy-anjorin-narrates-what-transpired-at-eko-market-shares-proof-video\/\">leading to the wrongful accusation.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Hundeyin clarified that Anjorin-Lawal transferred the correct amount, N90,000, to the initial incorrect account and later to the correct account to avoid trouble, despite the mistake not being hers.<\/p>\n<p>She reported the assault to the police, resulting in an arrest.<\/p>\n<p>The police investigation concluded that Anjorin-Lawal&#8217;s actions were legitimate, and she has been exonerated from the accusation.<\/p>\n<p>Benjamin Hundeyin added:<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<strong><em>Lizzy Anjorin-Lawal transferred what she was supposed to transfer, which was about N90,000, into the wrong account that she was given and there was a receipt; when it was becoming too hot, she again transferred money to the correct account number they gave her.
