In response, he received a clear answer: &#8220;It is I.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With this divine assurance, the work began. He humbly laid flat before God, symbolizing the complete handing over of the university to divine leadership.<\/p>\n<p>In his words:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;When we got the license to operate Covenant University, everybody was excited. Was I? I&#8217;m not sure. Because I asked the Lord, &#8216;Lord, tell me if it&#8217;s not Your university, I&#8217;m not interested. I&#8217;m not going to school anymore.&#8217; And I heard Him say, &#8216;It is I.'&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;It is I&#8221; meant a lot. He spoke that on February 12, 2002. We began clearing the ground for the university on March 6. By October 21, 1,500 students resumed on campus. Two halls of residence\u2014one for males, one for females\u2014were ready, and all the buildings were fully completed. There was no lecture held outside the facility. The library and everything else were in place in just seven months. How many months? And there were no bungalows\u2014everything was done properly, all within seven months, by His hand. &#8220;It is I.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Now, wait a minute. &#8220;The day we dedicated the university, He said to me, &#8216;Now hand it over to Me. Now come and see the hand of God.&#8217; I asked, &#8216;How do I hand it over to You?&#8217; He said, &#8216;Lay flat on this floor before Me.&#8217; So I laid down before Him, before all the students, their parents, and church leaders. I was the maddest person there. I laid down before Him, and He took it over. Now, in 15 years, watch. Covenant University is today listed among the elite group of universities, which is only 1,002 in the world.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"0 0 []\"><em>&#8220;Out of 29,000 universities in the world, Covenant has jumped to the 1,000 realm.
