Multi-talented Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage,\u00a0has stated that though she has been heartbroken she still believes in love.<\/p>\n

Tiwa, who is gearing up to release an Extended Play album titled, \u2018Water and Garri\u2019<\/a>\u00a0 spoke on the Zane Lowe Show on Apple Music. The singer noted that one of the songs on the album, Tales by Moonlight, was inspired by a kid\u2019s show she used to enjoy as a child. She said, \u201cWhen I heard the instrumental, it felt soft and light, and had an old school vibe. So, I wanted a record that felt good.<\/p>\n

However, it is a love song. Tales by Moonlight was a popular programme when I was growing up in Nigeria. (In it, the anchor would tell stories to children). It\u2019s basically about me saying I want a fairy tale type of love. I don\u2019t want to lose hope in finding real love. I still believe in that. No matter how many times I\u2019ve been heartbroken, I am still a sucker for love. I still believe there\u2019s that fairy-tale Cinderella ending.\u201d<\/p>\n

Savage also stated that American RnB singer, Brandy, was the reason she became a musician. She maintained that featuring Brandy on the forthcoming EP was a dream come true for her as she had been trying to work with her for a long time. She said, \u201cBrandy is literally the reason I started singing. She is my all-time favourite, mentor and everything.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been trying to work with her for years. It was a dream of mine. When it happened, it went beyond music. We connected like sisters. I speak to her every other day.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer also stated that she had never created music like she did on the album. She added, \u201cThere is a song on the album titled, \u2018Work Fada\u2019. On it, I featured Rich King and Nas. I have never created music like this. \u201cEverybody that was involved (in making the album) from Rodney Jerkins to Brandy, TY Dolla Sign and Nas were incredible.<\/p>\n

When I played the record for Pharrell (American singer and producer), he was blown away. He was quiet for a few seconds.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome people asked me if I was sure I wanted to release another project. We are not sure about touring yet. For me, it\u2019s not really about that. It\u2019s about putting music out and making sure that people\u2019s souls are fed.
