{"id":204329,"date":"2025-01-20T09:44:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-20T09:44:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=204329"},"modified":"2025-01-20T09:47:33","modified_gmt":"2025-01-20T09:47:33","slug":"they-had-it-coming-skales-reacts-to-report-of-efcc-officer-shot-dead-during-raid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2025\/01\/20\/they-had-it-coming-skales-reacts-to-report-of-efcc-officer-shot-dead-during-raid\/","title":{"rendered":"They had it coming \u2013 Skales reacts to report of EFCC officer shot dead during raid"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Skales has faulted the EFCC following a recent incident involving officers of the anti-graft agency on a raid.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">On Friday, an EFCC operative was shot dead, with another injured by suspected cyber criminals in Awka, Anambra state. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Reacting to it, Skales took to X to share his own scary experience with them.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Nigerian singer Skales has sparked controversy with his comments following the death of an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officer, who was shot during a recent raid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The singer, who shared his thoughts on social media on January 20, 2025, revealed his lack of sympathy due to a traumatic encounter he and his family had with the EFCC in 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a series of posts on X, he shared that the death of an officer in the hands of a citizen was coming, due to the commission&#8217;s manner of operation. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">He wrote<\/span><span class=\"s3\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201cIt\u2019s quite unfortunate that someone lost his life but they had it coming imagine the trauma I and my family still face till now.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThat organization need to be scraped out or reformed but we all know there\u2019s no such thing as reform in this country\u2026I use to rate them but till I found out they use that organization to abuse power and extort young people of money.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">&#8220;I should be feeling bad but I actually don\u2019t they had it coming .., imagine that day I didnt keep my cool they would have probably switched the story just like they tried to do and shot me or something \u2026 I will never forgive them \u2026 they had it coming<\/span><span class=\"s1\">.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The singer specifically called out an EFCC officer he identified as &#8220;Mr Femi,&#8221; who caused him pain the day his home was similarly raided in the middle of the night, back in 2023. Skales continued:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">&#8220;That Mr femi \u2026 I will never forget that night \u2026 I pray your family goes though worst than the trauma you put mine through \u2026 Mr femi of efcc that came that day \u2026 I wish you a miserable life .. you will suffer worse than what you put innocent people through.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Recounting the trauma from the incident, he stressed that he would never forgive the EFCC for the way they broke into his home, frightening his infant and mother. He wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">\u201cWell when they came to my house they didn&#8217;t ask they didn&#8217;t knock they just broke the door and i&#8217;m not a fraudster plus my whole family was there with me including my new born \u2026 imagine being woken up with 4 ak47s and 3 sledge hammers like a gaddamn horror movie and all this because they saw luxurious cars in front of my house. Corrupt agency trying to fight corruption lol\u2026 I will never forgive them \u2026 they deserve it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s3\">Imagine the trauma \u2026 I still wake up every 4-6am to look outside my window if someone is trying to break in \u2026 they also act like criminals and scare the living shit out of the innocent.. if you\u2019ve never experienced them you will never understand the scar and trauma they live on you and I\u2019ve never committed such crime in my life\u2026 so they had it coming I don\u2019t care.<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The EFCC has always faced criticism in the past for its methods during raids, which have been described as excessive and invasive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><a
