{"id":209576,"date":"2025-03-03T08:18:49","date_gmt":"2025-03-03T08:18:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=209576"},"modified":"2025-03-03T08:22:35","modified_gmt":"2025-03-03T08:22:35","slug":"wunmi-aloba-hits-back-as-mohbads-friend-spending-accuses-widow-of-lying-about-singers-final-moments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2025\/03\/03\/wunmi-aloba-hits-back-as-mohbads-friend-spending-accuses-widow-of-lying-about-singers-final-moments\/","title":{"rendered":"Wunmi Aloba hits back as Mohbad\u2019s friend Spending accuses widow of lying about singer\u2019s final moments"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Wunmi and a friend of Mohbad have clashed on social media over the final moments of the late singer.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">While the widow gave her account in some interviews she recently granted, Spending claimed that Wunmi misrepresented circumstances surrounding Mohbad\u2019s death, which he found suspicious. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">Spending then recounted the incident of September 10, 2023, two days before the singer died.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Omowunmi, Mohbad\u2019s wife, has responded to a close friend of the late singer known as Spending who accused her of manipulating the truth and spinning false narratives in the interviews she has granted to the media. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mohbad\u00a0died\u00a0on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day. On September 21, 2023, his body was\u00a0exhumed\u00a0by police for an autopsy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On Saturday, Spending, a friend of the singer, recounted events from September 10, 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He claimed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2025\/03\/02\/yomi-fabiyi-is-tiktok-activist-exploiting-mohbads-death-has-received-over-n10m-donation-wunmi-video\/\">Omowunmi\u2019s statements in her interviews were<\/a> \u201cfalse\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He alleged that she had \u201ccursed, argued, and threatened to destroy Mohbad\u2019s career like Lil Frosh\u2019s career was ended by his girlfriend\u201d that day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Spending further alleged that Mohbad and Omowunmi\u2019s relationship was \u201ctoxic,\u201d claiming that she consistently treated him \u201cbadly.\u201d The post read in part: <\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cAfter Primeboy left. On our way home, while you and Mohbad were arguing, you dumped Liam and started crying and yelling,\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI had to pick him up to pacify him at the same time while trying to separate you and Mohbad as you were locked up with Mohbad dragging his clothes despite the injury he had sustained from the show.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cYou kept screaming and cursing Mohbad. Even Darosha intervened, asking you guys to stop. Your arguments were to the extent of you threatening to end Mohbad\u2019s career like Lil Frosh\u2019s career was ended by his girlfriend.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c\u2026I know how badly you used to treat Mohbad, and you are out here claiming to have a loving relationship while, in reality, it was toxic. It\u2019s not as you are going around claiming to be.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Spending also refuted Wunmi\u2019s claims that she provided first aid to Mohbad after they got home. Instead, he stated that it was Bami, another friend, who bought and applied the necessary treatment to Mohbad\u2019s wounds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He revealed that at 11 a.m. the following day, Mohbad requested a nurse, as his regular one was unavailable. However, after leaving the house, Spending was later shocked to hear that Mohbad had died.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a particularly startling claim, Spending questioned why Wunmi threw a white item on Mohbad\u2019s coffin, asking if it had any significance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Spending further accused Wunmi of inconsistencies in her statements, including her conflicting accounts about the nurse\u2019s visit and her denial of being present when Mohbad received his third injection.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reacting via a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday March 2, Omowunmi admitted to arguing with Mohbad that day but clarified it was over his altercation with a friend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She refuted claims of making threats, stating that they never argued at home and that Mohbad later apologized, acknowledging her frustration. She wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI want to set the record straight. The only argument I had with my husband was on our way home because I was upset that he fought.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe never argued in the house. When we got back from the show, he was downstairs discussing the incident with his friends, including you, until around 6 AM.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI went straight to the room with our baby Liam, and he later came upstairs in the morning to apologize because he knew I was upset. Which every woman would have done!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Omowunmi also questioned Spending\u2019s motives, insisting that she and Mohbad shared a \u201cbeautiful\u201d relationship. She added:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cYou know my husband and I had a beautiful relationship, Spending you know! Your reason for peddling lies is what is beyond my comprehension!!!!!!.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mohbad\u2019s wife further accused Spending of \u201cspreading lies\u201d for financial gain and under external influence. She wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cYou are only doing this because of the DPP\u2019s advice. If there was no advice, you would not be speaking now. The same people coaching you have also said they will coach the nurse to lie against me, so I will not be surprised if she does.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cYou are here spreading lies as if they did not contribute money for you on a TikTok platform yesterday evening!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis same platform are the same ones who do not have my best interest at heart and have been making my life a living hell!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">She said she would no longer remain silent, vowing to stand her ground henceforth. She added:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNo one would bully me again. Not in this life, not even in the next one. If you come 10 times, I, Omowunmi will come 25 times.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe reason for my silence all this while was because I was gathering courage!
