He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N2 million.<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Popular singer Habeeb Okikiola better known as Portable\u2019s case has been adjourned by an Abeokuta Magistrate\u2019s Court to March 26 to enable the prosecution to merge his charges with those of his workers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">When the case against the artiste resumed on Wednesday after his earlier arraignment on February 20, the prosecution told the court that it would be a waste of the court\u2019s time to hear the case of Portable and that of his workers separately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Mr Timileyin Oredein, Senior State Counsel, told the court that Portable\u2019s case had a sister case, which needed to be merged before the trial begins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Oredein reminded the court that the musician and nine of his workers were earlier arraigned on February 6 on similar charges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">He said that it would be time-wasting if the defendants were tried separately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Oredein prayed the court to give a short date for the charges to be merged and substituted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">Portable and his workers were arraigned on a five-count charge of conspiracy, assault, unlawful obstruction while armed with cutlasses and a gun, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">They were also arraigned for allegedly assaulting three officials of the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In his earlier arraignment, Portable pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N2 million. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2025\/02\/20\/ogun-court-grants-portable-n2m-bail-adjourns-case-till-march-5\/\"><strong>As part of his bail conditions, he was restricted from discussing the case or related matters on social media.<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Portable\u2019s court case has been adjourned until March 26 for merging and substitution.
