{"id":210029,"date":"2025-03-08T13:39:27","date_gmt":"2025-03-08T13:39:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=210029"},"modified":"2025-03-08T13:39:27","modified_gmt":"2025-03-08T13:39:27","slug":"tacha-in-tears-mr-macaroni-decries-unaccountability-in-reaction-to-senator-natashas-senate-suspension","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2025\/03\/08\/tacha-in-tears-mr-macaroni-decries-unaccountability-in-reaction-to-senator-natashas-senate-suspension\/","title":{"rendered":"Tacha in tears, Mr Macaroni decries unaccountability in reaction to Senator Natasha\u2019s senate suspension"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong>Tacha and Mr Macaroni amongst others have reacted to Senator Natasha Akpoti\u2019s 6-months suspension from the senate.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">The senator was suspended over alleged misconduct and refusal to comply with the chamber\u2019s sitting arrangement during plenary. <\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">This comes after she accused the Senate President of sexual harassment.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Big Brother Naija reality TV star Tacha Akide and content creator Debo Adedayo aka Mr Macaroni have reacted to the trending report of Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan who was suspended by the senate on Thursday. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Akpoti was suspended for six months over alleged misconduct and refusal to comply with the chamber\u2019s sitting arrangement during the plenary session on 20 February.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The upper chamber, however, said if she submits a written apology, they may consider lifting the suspension before the six-month period expires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2025\/02\/28\/victoria-inyama-mr-jollof-react-to-natasha-akpoti-accusing-akpabio-of-sexual-harassment-video\/\">This comes after Akpoti accused the senate president of sexual harassment.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Reacting, BBNaija\u2019s Tacha took to social media to breakdown in tears. She spoke about how women\u2019s rights are trampled upon anytime they speak up saying:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt&#8217;s crazy. It sounds like it is a crime to be a woman. <\/span>See what this woman is going through for literally speaking up, it&#8217;s crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">On his part, Mr Macaroni on his X platform lashed out at the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the Senate for suspending Senator Natasha.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0He decried the lack of accountability within the nation, noting that individuals in positions of power face little to no repercussions for their actions, which fosters an environment of impunity. Mr Macaroni wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s2\">\u201cIt\u2019s not as if these countries that we call \u2018Saner climes\u2019 are not corrupt oo. The difference between these countries and Nigeria is the sense of accountability at the very least. In Nigeria, there is no regard for law and order.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cFrom the impunity in the Senate to the shamelessness and abuse of power by security agents, to the total lack of regard for the Nigerian people, everyone is free to act as irresponsibly as they wish so far they have power or money.
