He revealed:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI didn\u2019t know that man was my dad for five to ten years. One day, we were watching a film and my mother was like, \u2018That\u2019s your dad.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure id=\"attachment_215389\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-215389\" style=\"width: 492px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-215389\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/08\/IMG_0131.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"492\" height=\"624\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/08\/IMG_0131.jpeg 492w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2025\/08\/IMG_0131-237x300.jpeg 237w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 492px) 100vw, 492px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-215389\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Adewale Elesho<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The comedian recalled a bold move he made as a young boy, running away from home when his mother wasn\u2019t around. Before leaving, he wrote her a letter telling her not to look for him because he was going to Lagos to find his father. He said:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI wore a tight black round-neck shirt and bathroom slippers. I lied to a family member that my mother was dead just so they would allow me stay. I was only going to see my dad.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Yemi also reflected on his early days in entertainment, explaining that he was making comedy skits long before the term \u201cskit\u201d became popular. He shared:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cShout-out to Yhemo Lee. As long as you are with him when he\u2019s around, he pays all our bills.
