She met her future husband, Olumide Ijogun, while they were still in secondary school at Greensprings School in Lagos. They grew from classmates to close friends, and then to high school sweethearts. Their relationship matured over the years and in November 2012 they decided to take it to the next level.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s2\">The couple had their traditional engagement and then their white wedding at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, Lagos. The ceremony was a major society event attended by family, friends, church members and dignitaries. The reception took place at The Haven Events Centre in GRA Ikeja. Tolu wore a lace Pronovias bridal gown for the church service and later changed into a Deola Sagoe creation for the reception. Their first daughter was born in September 2013 in the United States. A few years later in July 2018 they welcomed their second daughter. In June 2020 the couple celebrated the arrival of their son. One of her more famous statements described sex as a form of \u201ccurrency\u201d in marriage, urging couples to keep intimacy alive and avoid letting that bond drift outside the home. Tolu, on October 3, 2025, later confirmed publicly that she and Olumide had separated. She described the end of her marriage as deeply painful, comparing it to a kind of death. For her, it was not just a private matter but an emotional journey that was intensified by the grief she was already facing from the multiple losses in her family. Between 2021 and 2023, she lost her stepmother, her father\u2019s twin sister and eventually her father, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya.
