For Banky W and Adesua Etomi, each season has come with a story that feels like a living testimony. Today, October 11, 2025, that story adds another bright line as their youngest son, <\/span>Zekiah<\/span>, is turning one.<\/span><\/p>\n

To celebrate, Adesua shared a message that feels both poetic and prophetic. She wrote on Instagram:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe can\u2019t believe today is your first birthday, Zekiah. We are all deeply in love with you.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur strong-willed baby, our sunshine, our bundle of joy with a PhD in facial expressions. You are evidence of God\u2019s faithfulness. He is indeed a promise keeper.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

She prayed over his life with a mother\u2019s full heart that he will shine everywhere he goes, that nations will come to his light, that his life will always reflect God\u2019s goodness. Adesua ended her lengthy message by simply concluding:<\/span><\/p>\n

From Waiting to Winning<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Long before this birthday post, the Wellington-Etomi story had already been one of faith meeting reality.<\/span><\/p>\n

Olubankole Wellington<\/span>, known to millions as <\/span>Banky W<\/span>, has always balanced artistry and purpose. Born in New York City but raised in Lagos, he started Empire Mates Entertainment in 2002 and became one of the leading voices of Nigerian R&B. His songs like <\/span>Strong Thing<\/span> and <\/span>Yes\/No<\/span> built his fame, but his outlook on life gave his music soul.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adesua Etomi<\/span>, one of Nollywood\u2019s most respected actresses, has matched that same energy on screen. From <\/span>The Wedding Party<\/span> to <\/span>King of Boys<\/span>, she has built a career rooted in emotion, versatility, and grace. The two met through mutual friends in the entertainment space, connected quietly, and eventually got engaged in early 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their traditional wedding took place on <\/span>November 19, 2017<\/span>, followed by a white wedding in Cape Town on <\/span>November 25, 2017<\/span>. It was the kind of union fans rooted for despite the couple being celebrities in their own right. <\/span><\/p>\n

His name, which means \u201cGod sees\u201d and \u201cGod has given victory,\u201d reflected everything they had been through. Banky later said that his song <\/span>Final Say<\/span> was born from that experience, a musical testimony to answered prayers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Then, in 2024, another beautiful surprise came. Adesua revealed she was expecting again, sharing elegant maternity photos<\/a> with the caption: \u201cFirst we had each other, then we had your brother, then God sent you. Now, we have everything.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

By the end of October 2024, they welcomed their second son, <\/span>Zekiah<\/span>, into the world. Banky posted a heartfelt video showing his hands-on role at home. He could be seen cooking, cleaning, and caring, while subtly passing on the message that partnership is built on effort, not ego.<\/span><\/p>\n
