The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards<\/strong><\/a> returned to New York City on Sunday night, September 12, with Doja Cat as the host of the live broadcast, which aired on MTV.<\/p>\n

The night’s big winner was Lil Nas X, who took home multiple awards, including the coveted Video of the Year trophy as well as honours for Best Direction and Best Visual Effects, all for his single “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).”<\/p>\n

The artist dedicated his Video of the Year statute to “the gay agenda”.<\/p>\n

Justin Bieber took home awards for Artist of the Year and Best Pop while Olivia Rodrigo earned the Song of the Year award.<\/p>\n

Other winners included Billie Eilish, who won Video for Good for her ballad “Your Power”; BTS, who won Group of the Year; and Travis Scott, who won Best Hip-Hop for “Franchise” (featuring Young Thug & M.I.A.).<\/p>\n
