Months after escaping for her life, Obianuju Catherine Udeh popularly known as DJ Switch, has denied news that she got asylum to Canada.<\/p>\n

DJ Switch who was signed by Peter Okoye as his personal disc jockey in 2017, made headlines after capturing the shooting which occurred at Lekki Toll Gate in an Instalive video on October 20, 2020.<\/p>\n

Shortly after the gunshot incident<\/a> during the EndSARS protest at the tollgate, it was widely reported that she had fled the country and has taken asylum in Canada. The personal assistant to singer, Peter Okoye, Charles Abi, even granted an interview where he stated that DJ Switch is safe and out of the country.<\/p>\n

In a message posted on her Instastories, DJ Switch debunked reports she has been granted asylum in Canada. According to her, she never stepped foot into Canada and has been cooked up in a house for months.<\/p>\n

She wrote;<\/p>\n

To the people who know me so well, I don’t really share, except my craft, art and comments on social issues that affect us all.<\/p>\n

But let me say this…news outlets and bloggers, I know traffic is the game but when you don’t really investigate properly and run with things you don’t know for sure or verified, you sincerely hurt and\u00a0 in some cases cause serious complication for people in real life.<\/p>\n

I have been cooked up in a house for months. I never got asylum to Canada. I did not step foot into Canada.<\/p>\n

I didn’t speak to anyone who claimed they spoke to me on the issue.<\/p>\n

Anyways I will leave it there.<\/p>\n

By the way, it is now that I am traveling…. And it is not Canada.<\/p>\n
