{"id":52542,"date":"2022-01-13T15:09:05","date_gmt":"2022-01-13T15:09:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=52542"},"modified":"2022-01-13T15:09:05","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T15:09:05","slug":"rust-movie-armorer-sues-ammunition-supplier-for-allegedly-providing-both-dummy-and-live-rounds-on-set","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/01\/13\/rust-movie-armorer-sues-ammunition-supplier-for-allegedly-providing-both-dummy-and-live-rounds-on-set\/","title":{"rendered":"Rust movie armorer sues ammunition supplier for allegedly providing &#8216;both dummy and live&#8217; rounds on set"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A lawsuit against the ammunition supplier for Rust movie has been filed by Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer at the center of the Rust shooting investigation.<\/p>\n<p>According to court documents obtained by People, the 24-year-old Gutierrez-Reed accused Seth Kenney&#8217;s company PDQ Arm and Prop, LLC of supplying a mix of live and dummy ammunition prior to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2021\/10\/22\/alec-baldwin-accidentally-shoots-prop-gun-on-set-of-new-movie-killing-one-person\/\">fatal shooting that took the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the complaint filed on Wednesday January 12 in New Mexico, Gutierrez-Reed said Kenney&#8217;s company &#8220;distributed and sold prop ammunition which presented an unreasonable risk of injury, without warning of the risks that could have been avoided.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She added that the armorer said in the documents that the ammunition supplier &#8220;prepared dummy ammunition cartridge boxes from surplus ammunition stockpiles that comprised of both dummy and live ammunition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Gutierrez-Reed who is now asking for a jury trial, as well as damages and attorneys&#8217; fees, further said;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These false representations caused live rounds to be introduced on set, resulting in a foreseeably catastrophic outcome, and causing damages to persons on the Rust set.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The introduction of live rounds onto the set, which no one anticipated, combined with the rushed and chaotic atmosphere, created a perfect storm for a safety incident.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kenney has denied claims of his company supplying live rounds on the movie set. He told Good Morning America on December 2, that the live rounds found by investigators on the set of the film were not supplied by him or his company.<\/p>\n<p>Kenney said at the time;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s not a possibility that they came from PDQ or from myself personally&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This is coming after Gutierrez-Reed&#8217;s attorneys, Jason Bowles and Robert Gorence told Today they were looking into the possibility that someone intentionally &#8220;sabotaged&#8221; the set before Alec Baldwin accidentally shot and killed Hutchins with a prop gun.<\/p>\n<p>Bowles said Gutierrez-Reed loaded a bullet into the prop gun that killed Hutchins from a box of dummy rounds and only found the live round later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A lawsuit against the ammunition supplier for Rust movie has been filed by Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer at the center of the Rust shooting investigation.
