Famed writer and former\u00a0Vogue\u00a0creative director Andr\u00e9 Leon Talley\u00a0is dead.<\/p>\n

The Fashion icon passed away at the age of 73, after battling an unknown illness in a hospital.<\/p>\n

Designer Diane von F\u00fcrstenberg confirmed Tally’s death by writing;<\/p>\n

“Good bye darling Andr\u00e9\u2026 No one saw the world in a more glamorous way than you did \u2026 no one was grander and more soulful than you were \u2026the world will be less joyfulI.\u00a0I have loved you and laughed with you for 45 years\u2026. I miss your loud screams \u2026I love you soooo much .”<\/p>\n

Talley first joined\u00a0Vogue\u00a0in 1983 as the magazine’s fashion<\/a> news director. He quickly rose to creative director and editor-in-chief\u00a0Anna Wintour’s right-hand, a position he held from 1987 to 1995. He left\u00a0Vogue\u00a0in 1995 and moved to Paris, where he returned to\u00a0W Magazine\u00a0after working at the publication earlier in his career.<\/p>\n

He continued contributing to\u00a0Vogue\u00a0as an editor until he rejoined the magazine in 1998 full-time as the editor-at-large, writing the monthly column Style Fax. He stayed in this role until his final departure from\u00a0Vogue\u00a0in 2013.<\/p>\n

Over his career, Talley also contributed to\u00a0Women’s Wear Daily, The New York Times,\u00a0and\u00a0Interview Magazine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
