The musician stated that people he hoped to support him after the contest disappointed him.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Running\u2019 crooner revealed it took him over three years to establish his feet in the music industry, despite being popular on a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2021\/02\/20\/bbnaija-laycon-breaks-streaming-record-on-showmax\/\">reality show<\/a>. Like you (referring to the show\u2019s host) said, when people come out of the reality show, there is pressure and it\u2019s heart-wrenching when people see me and start asking \u2018so what are you doing now?\u201d Chike asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll be like, can\u2019t you see, I\u2019m into music. You\u2019re the one not following up\u2019. But I actually understood their point. I just knew I had to keep working. All I would say is that I\u2019m grateful that I participated in The Voice Nigeria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey (reality shows) give visibility\u2026but is it really about you or the business? After the reality show, it took me about three years plus to be able to get anything properly to sort myself. So, imagine everybody knows you because you appeared on TV, then all of a sudden, you\u2019re nowhere again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, I won\u2019t say don\u2019t go for a reality show, but before you start, just know that nothing might happen when you\u2019re done. Just know that nobody got your back when the show is over.
