{"id":88071,"date":"2022-07-08T08:51:33","date_gmt":"2022-07-08T08:51:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=88071"},"modified":"2022-07-08T08:51:33","modified_gmt":"2022-07-08T08:51:33","slug":"abuja-court-stops-demolition-of-kpokpogris-house-as-he-demands-n2bn-compensation-from-fct-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/07\/08\/abuja-court-stops-demolition-of-kpokpogris-house-as-he-demands-n2bn-compensation-from-fct-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"Abuja court stops demolition of Kpokpogri\u2019s house as he demands N2bn compensation from FCT minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Prince Joseph Kpokpogri, a former lover of Nollywood actress cum politician, Tonto Dikeh, has filed a N2 billion lawsuit against the Federal Capital Territory Development Authority, the FCT Minister, Muhammed Bello, for the demolition of his multi-million naira mansion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">WITHIN NIGERIA had reported how the multi-million naira <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/05\/14\/video-tonto-dikeh-mocks-ex-kpokpogri-as-fcda-demolishes-his-n700m-property-in-abuja\/\">mansion belonging to Prince Kpokpogri was demolished by the Federal Capital Development Agency (FCDA) in May.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The socialite had approached the court to claim over N2 billion in damages for the illegal demolition of his house by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/05\/30\/what-to-do-if-you-have-kids-schooling-in-abuja-tonto-dikeh-advises-parents\/\">Abuja<\/a> authorities who he accused of demolishing his house because he refused to sell it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a ruling on Thursday, a high <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/06\/28\/shan-george-reacts-to-rights-lawyer-malcolm-omirhobos-juju-priest-outfit-to-court\/\">court<\/a> sitting at Maitama restrained the FCT minister, Muhammad Bello, from further demolishing the residence of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/04\/14\/stray-shot-hits-tonto-dikehs-ex-as-nkechi-blessing-drags-kpokpogri-into-fight-with-opeyemi-falegan\/\">Prince Kpokpogri.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The order followed an ex-parte application Kpokpogri filed through his lawyers led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN), who told the court how the FCDA invaded his client\u2019s residence on May 14 with armed policemen, bulldozers, and excavators.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He said they commenced the demolition of his house, beginning with the boys\u2019 quarters, adding that the agents of the FCDA threatened to return for total demolition of Kpokpogri\u2019s house and failed to give any reason for their action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Ozekhome begged the court to intervene in the matter, in the interest of justice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In his ruling, Justice Charles Agbaza, said he found merit in the ex-parte application and accordingly granted all the reliefs that were sought by the Applicant. Justice Agbaza held:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">\u201cI have carefully perused the affidavit of the Applicant and also listened to the counsel.
