{"id":98873,"date":"2022-09-24T12:52:45","date_gmt":"2022-09-24T12:52:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/?p=98873"},"modified":"2022-09-24T12:52:45","modified_gmt":"2022-09-24T12:52:45","slug":"i-wont-be-cajoled-to-accept-polygamy-may-edochie-asserts-hints-at-taking-a-life-changing-decision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/09\/24\/i-wont-be-cajoled-to-accept-polygamy-may-edochie-asserts-hints-at-taking-a-life-changing-decision\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;I won&#8217;t be cajoled to accept polygamy&#8230;&#8221; &#8211; May Edochie asserts, hints at taking a life changing decision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Popular Nigerian actor Yul Edochie\u2019s first wife, May, has spoken at length on the effect his second marriage had on her.<\/p>\n<p>Recall that social media was buzzing after Yul announced that he had married actress Judy Austin and that they have a son together.<\/p>\n<p>Months after the news broke out &#8211; with his first wife, May expressing her disapproval, the actor and his wife unfollowed each other on social media.<\/p>\n<p>However, they were spotted together when May clocked a new age recently and decided to launch her foundation on the same day.<\/p>\n<p>Yul shared a video from the event and proudly declared that he stopped by to support his wife&#8217;s noble cause.<\/p>\n<p>While some people praised the actor for supporting his wife, others noticed that May didn&#8217;t look too comfortable with him around, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/entertainment\/2022\/09\/22\/yul-came-back-for-the-money-be-wise-he-is-deceiving-you-fan-warns-may-edochie-she-reacts\/\">urged her to cut ties with him.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Amid the speculations, in a new Instagram post, May explained that she had a beautiful and amazing marriage until everything shattered suddenly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>God blessed me a happy, peaceful, and lovely family in a beautiful and jointly built &#8220;mansion&#8221; that started from little or nothing&#8230;humble beginnings. What more could I have been asking for? I had a stable and loving home prior to the unprecedented events regarding my marriage.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>Life is made up of an infinite amount of choices. Most decisions might be tough to make, but whenever we confront our options with courage and confidence, we should equally be open to the paths of our own design. I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought that comes with it in our lifetime.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>She also stressed that she won&#8217;t be cajoled to accept polygamy because it doesn&#8217;t align with her faith and family values.<\/p>\n<p>Parts of her statement reads;<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;I understand that we all have our weaknesses and limitations as humans, and I personally believe everyone deserves an opportunity to make things right when they stray&#8230; Forgiveness is devine. Beyond all the unnecessary facades, Polygamy is a life choice and no one should be compelled to accept it. It is something I think all parties involved should embrace willingly, and it&#8217;s okay for anyone who chooses it.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Some religions|traditions allow polygamy and I have nothing against it. However, I am ABSOLUTELY certain that I will not be NUMBERED as a wife or be cajoled to accept a practice that does not align with my faith and family values.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mother of four hinted that taking life changing decisions to quit her marriage is not the best and God in his own time will mend the broken pieces.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<strong>We should understand that taking life changing decisions hastily is not the best.
