Dr Udo Orji Nnorom, the Chief Medical Officer of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Umuahia, Abia State, has been reported dead.
Dr Nnorom, a native of Nde Owuu in Arochukwu, Abia, reportedly died in the early hours of Sunday, September 12, after a brief illness.
People who knew the doctor have gone on Facebook to express shock at his death.
In another gist, a young lady named Monsura has allegedly been shot dead at her home by trigger-happy police officer.
It was gathered that the deceased was killed on Friday, September 10.
Her sister took to Facebook to share photos of Monsura after she was shot. She also shared photos of the scene where her sister was shot, with so much blood on the floor.
“Please help me get justice,” the bereaved wrote, adding, “The police shot her in our compound yesterday.”
She continued: “I need all the help I can get to get justice for her.”
