Lightning strike kills IMSU student while making call

A first-year student of the Imo State University Owerri (IMSU), Chiamaka Obodo, was reportedly struck dead by lightning following heavy downpour.

The 20-year-old Chiamaka was reportedly making a call with her phone inside her parents’ house at the Obilubi Obazu Mbieri in Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, when lightning struck.

The deceased was said to have died on the spot before help could get to her.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the nearest morgue.

She will be laid to rest on Friday, June 17, 2022.

WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that a soon-to-wed middle-aged man, popularly called MC was killed when lightning struck on Aibanegbe Street, Off New Lagos Road, Benin City, Edo State.
