On Thursday, a video of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for the 2023 election, being whisked away in a helicopter surfaced on social media.

The LP presidential flag bearer visited both of the University of Nigeria’s campuses—Nsukka and Enugu—earlier today before traveling to Enugu for a political rally, according to WITHIN NIGERIA.

Obi was a student at UNN where he studied philosophy, but the huge crowd at Nsukka wouldn’t let him leave as they clung tightly to him.

Security personnel on the ground had to step in to forcibly whisk him away into the helicopter as the crowd joyfully applauded.

I Am Contesting As A Nigerian

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, has since come forward to clarify that he is running as a Nigerian and not as a pro-Biafra agitator.

He claims that as a Nigerian, he is running for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Obi made it clear that he was not running for office in support of any Biafra agitation because, in his opinion, the Biafra War has been over for the past 52 years and will continue to be so.

The Labour Party’s presidential candidate, according to WITHIN NIGERIA, said this while appearing on the Brekete Family Show in Abuja on Monday.

His reaction was against the backdrop of the agitation of the sovereign state of Biafra which is popular among some sections of the South East region.
