Bayo Onanuga, the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Team’s Director of Media and Publicity, has responded to the tribunal’s decision on the 2022 governorship election in Osun State.
His reaction follows the tribunal’s decision to overturn the outcome of the governorship election in Osun State in 2022.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that the three-man Osun State Election Petition Tribunal, chaired by Justice Tertse Kume, sacked Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke on Friday.
The tribunal, in a majority decision of two judges against one, ordered that Adeleke’s Certificate of Return be withdrawn and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola.
According to the majority judgment read by the Chairman, Justice Tertse Kume, Oyetola received the majority of lawful votes (314,931) to Adeleke’s 219,666.
Adeleke was fired by the tribunal for the case of overvoting in some polling units across the state.
While Adeleke ran on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform, Oyetola ran on the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform in the Osun governorship election.
In a brief statement posted on his Twitter account on Friday, Onanuga congratulated Adegboyega Oyetola on his tribunal victory.
He wrote:
