A palm-wine tapper identified as Sunday Mima, has been arrested by men of the Ondo State police command for allegedly raping an 80-year-old grandmother to death.
The suspect reportedly attacked the victim identified as Aderibigbe Felicia, a native of Ore in Odigbo council in the state, on her farm, stripped her naked and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
The suspect was apprehended by some youths in the community who reportedly found in his possession the victim’s mobile telephone.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Funmi Odunlami, said it is a case of rape and murder.
She added that the suspect would soon be paraded by the command after interrogation and subsequently charged to court.
