Remi Tinubu, Nigeria’s first lady, has been chastised online for breaking protocol less than 24 hours after her husband, Bola Tinubu, took office.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that a photo making the rounds online captured Remi, the President, and vice president, Kashim Shettima during a meeting on economic matters.
The viral photo is allegedly from Tinubu’s meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja with the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, and the Group Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari.
Although it is unclear whether she attended the meeting, many Nigerians have taken to social media to express their displeasure with the photo.

Emefiele has been a disgrace to the Central bank. He has made a caricature of the institution. The NNPCL has always been a joke, albeit an expensive one.
We won’t tolerate the gross disregard of national institutions again. This nonsense must stop. The First Lady is a ceremonial title, not an elected office that should be briefed on matters of the economy”
