Traditionally, LGBTQ+ communities have been known for maintaining a discreet presence on social media, refraining from overt self-promotion.
However, a recent video featuring a Nigerian LGBTQ+ community fearlessly embracing the “Of Course” challenge has generated diverse responses.
In the circulating video, members of the community confidently introduced themselves and played along to the framework of the “Of Course” challenge.
Speaking, One member asserted, “I’m a lesbian, masculine representing woman, and of course, people always ask if I’m a footballer.”
Another said, “I’m bisexual, and of course, everyone thinks I’m a prostitute.”
The members continued to express their diverse identities, breaking stereotypes and challenging societal expectations.
A lesbian with children stated, “I’m a lesbian with kids, and of course, people want to know how I got them.”
A trans man disclosed, “I’m a trans man, and of course, people want to know what is down there.”
A non-binary individual declared, “I’m non-binary, of course; people want me to pick if I’m a man or a woman, but who cares.”
