Verydarkman procession Anambra Fish Magnet

A solemn procession was held in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, on Tuesday as renowned social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), led mourners in honour of late entrepreneur Ifesinachi Onyekere, widely known as Fish Magnet.

In a video that has now gone viral, VeryDarkMan was seen with a large crowd of sympathisers at Aroma Junction, a central point in the state capital. Clad in black, the mourners gathered and reportedly walked in silence for close to an hour from Aroma through to the Ring Road, where the late Fish Magnet’s business outlet is located.

Addressing the gathered crowd, VDM urged residents to remain vigilant and security conscious in light of recent events. He  passionately spoke about the importance of community safety and the need for accountability from law enforcement. He called for a thorough investigation into the murder and justice for the late entrepreneur.

The peaceful procession was not only a tribute to Ifesinachi’s legacy but also a call for urgent security reform in Anambra State. Officers from the Anambra State Police Command accompanied the crowd throughout the march to maintain order and ensure public safety.

VDM, who had earlier announced his intention to travel to Anambra for the event, received warm reception from locals, many of whom hailed his presence and activism. Social media platforms have since been flooded with clips and pictures from the emotional gathering, with the hashtag #JusticeForFishMagnet gaining momentum.

The circumstances surrounding the death of Ifesinachi Onyekere remain under investigation, and the growing pressure from both public figures and the local community is expected to push law enforcement agencies to accelerate their probe.

The procession has become a rallying point for both justice seekers and those calling for safer business environments across southeastern Nigeria.

Ifesinachi Onyekere, believed to be in his early 30s, was reportedly abducted on July 28, 2025, after closing from work. His disappearance sparked worry among family and friends. Days later, his lifeless body was found dumped along a bush path, with early reports suggesting he may have been tortured before being killed.
