{"id":11080,"date":"2022-01-22T18:09:47","date_gmt":"2022-01-22T18:09:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/?p=11080"},"modified":"2022-01-22T18:09:47","modified_gmt":"2022-01-22T18:09:47","slug":"missing-mother-of-two-found-dead-in-lagos-body-allegedly-mutilated-buried-by-her-trado-medical-doctor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2022\/01\/22\/missing-mother-of-two-found-dead-in-lagos-body-allegedly-mutilated-buried-by-her-trado-medical-doctor\/","title":{"rendered":"Missing mother of two found dead in Lagos, body allegedly mutilated, buried by her trado-medical doctor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mercy Henry, the mother of two who was declared missing in December 2021, has been found dead in Ijegun, a suburb in Lagos state.<\/p>\n<p>According to LIB, Mercy&#8217;s younger sister, Promise, who confirmed the incident said a trado-medical doctor, simply identified as Mayowa confessed to have killed Mercy after one of the other three persons arrested in connection with her disappearance confessed.<\/p>\n<p>Promise explained that Mayowa led the police to his backyard where he had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2022\/01\/07\/another-young-woman-reportedly-found-dead-in-jos-with-her-vital-parts-missing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mutilated her body<\/a>, packed them into sacks, and then buried them. She stated that Mayowa didn&#8217;t give any reason for killing mercy but it is believed that it was for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2022\/01\/14\/video-man-nabbed-while-attempting-to-bury-victim-alive-in-his-room-for-money-ritual\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ritual<\/a> purposes.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-11082 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/22\/Mercy-Henry-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"857\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/22\/Mercy-Henry-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/22\/Mercy-Henry-2-280x300.jpg 280w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2022\/01\/kunlenet07\/2022\/01\/22\/Mercy-Henry-2-768x823.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Mercy went <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2022\/01\/05\/missing-unijos-student-reportedly-found-dead-in-hotel-with-her-eyes-gouged-out\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">missing<\/a> on December 16 after she left her home to see Mayowa in Ijegun and did not return home on the said day, leaving her family in total despair.<\/p>\n<p>LIB reports that her family started calling all her friends and one of them named Ayo who resides in Port Harcourt, informed them that on that same day, Mercy called her asking for a N30,000 loan.<\/p>\n<p>According to Ayo, Mercy told her that she was ill and needed the money. She told Mercy&#8217;s family that the money left her account by 1.59pm on the same day and that by 2.02pm, Mercy&#8217;s phone was turned off and had remained switched off.<\/p>\n<p>With her information, the police traced the account she sent the money to Mayowa, who happened to be Mercy&#8217;s Trado-medical doctor. Mercy had given birth to one of her daughters with the assistance of Mayowa.<\/p>\n<p>Using the information supplied by Ayo, the police went to First Bank, and with the assistance of the Bank, Mayowa, the account holder that received the N30, 000, was arrested.<\/p>\n<p>When interrogated, Mayowa claimed to have seen Mercy four years ago when she came to his traditional birth center to deliver a baby girl.
