{"id":17213,"date":"2023-06-02T15:32:34","date_gmt":"2023-06-02T15:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/?p=17213"},"modified":"2023-06-02T15:32:34","modified_gmt":"2023-06-02T15:32:34","slug":"nigeria-better-than-ghana-pere-reno-omokri-in-heated-exchange-over-better-economy-politicians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2023\/06\/02\/nigeria-better-than-ghana-pere-reno-omokri-in-heated-exchange-over-better-economy-politicians\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria better than Ghana \u2013 Pere, Reno Omokri in heated exchange over better economy, politicians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">An exchange between Big Brother Naija reality star, Pere Egbi and former Presidential aide, Reno Omokri and their thoughts about Ghana, Nigeria economy has caused a stir on social media.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The banter started after Reno Omokri chastised <\/span><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2023\/02\/20\/nigerian-man-decries-the-deplorable-state-of-n200-notes-given-to-him-at-the-bank-video\/\">Nigerians<\/a> who complained about the high cost of fuel following the subsidy removal which took effect after President Bola Tinubu made the announcement on <\/span>May 29.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In his Twitter post, Reno stated that the price of fuel in Ghana is high and they do not subsidise fuel. He added that this gives the country enough money to cater for other things such as power supply, good hospitals among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Pere, while reacting to Reno&#8217;s post, said compared to Nigerian politicians, politicians in Ghana get the work done even if they are corrupt. His words:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Ghanaian politicians are not as callous, self centered, evil, big time thieves, manipulative and disgusting like Nigerian politicians. I&#8217;m sure they pilfer money every now and then in Ghana but they get the work done.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In response to Pere&#8217;s comment, Reno Omokri asked the former<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Big Brother Naija star to use his platform to project Nigeria in a positive light rather than throw negative comments on the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Omokri claimed that Ghana&#8217;s economy is on a brink of collapse hence the reason many entertainers are moving to Nigeria to promote their brands and products.
