{"id":4188,"date":"2021-05-13T18:00:20","date_gmt":"2021-05-13T18:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/?p=4188"},"modified":"2021-05-13T18:02:27","modified_gmt":"2021-05-13T18:02:27","slug":"boy-crushes-his-friend-with-a-car-to-avoid-paying-n30k-debt-in-uyo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/05\/13\/boy-crushes-his-friend-with-a-car-to-avoid-paying-n30k-debt-in-uyo\/","title":{"rendered":"Boy crushes his friend to death with a car to avoid paying N30k debt in Uyo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One AkpanIko Okon has reportedly ran over his friend, Ephraim Edet Okon George with a car to avoid paying N30,000 debt.<\/p>\n<p>It was gathered that the incident happened in Gibbs Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>According to report, the suspect who was deported from abroad on account of criminality, was owing the deceased N30k and had threatened to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/05\/03\/hit-and-run-driver-kills-man-and-pregnant-wife-four-months-after-their-wedding-in-delta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kill<\/a> him if he ever asked for the money.<\/p>\n<p>The report states that Akpan on spotting Ephraim last night while walking down the street, allegedly knocked him down with an unregistered Lexus car.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4191\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4191\" style=\"width: 286px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4191\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/05\/kunlenet07\/2021\/05\/13\/Uyo-2-286x300.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"286\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/05\/kunlenet07\/2021\/05\/13\/Uyo-2-286x300.jpeg 286w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/7\/2021\/05\/kunlenet07\/2021\/05\/13\/Uyo-2.jpeg 629w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 286px) 100vw, 286px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4191\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The deceased: Ephraim Edet Okon George<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The victim was rushed to the hospital by good Samaritans while Akpan in the company of armed men suspected to the officers of the Nigerian police, visited the hospital and carted away the only eye witness.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen they discovered that Ephraim had passed on, the said armed men rushed Akpan out by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/04\/13\/11-month-old-baby-girl-shot-dead-in-upstate-ny-drive-by-shooting-by-passing-car\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">shooting<\/a> sporadically into the air when residents wanted to accost him.
