{"id":4689,"date":"2021-05-25T13:22:12","date_gmt":"2021-05-25T13:22:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/?p=4689"},"modified":"2021-05-25T13:22:12","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T13:22:12","slug":"21-year-old-nigerian-investment-expert-arrested-for-over-n2b-fraud","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/05\/25\/21-year-old-nigerian-investment-expert-arrested-for-over-n2b-fraud\/","title":{"rendered":"21-year-old Nigerian &#8216;investment expert&#8217; arrested for over N2b fraud"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>21-year-old Dominic Ngene Joshua, who claims to be an &#8220;investment expert&#8221; has been arrested for allegedly diverting investors\u2019 funds worth over N2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The Special Fraud Unit, Lagos, arrested Ngene, the Managing Director\/Chief Executive Officer of Brisk Capital Limited, following petitions to the unit by several investors.<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that funds belonging to over 500 investors were diverted to sponsor Ngene&#8217;s extravagant lifestyle, exotic cars, luxury watches, real estates in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/05\/04\/man-arrested-for-using-hot-knife-to-brutalize-his-son-in-delta\/\">Lagos<\/a>, Abuja and Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Special Fraud Unit (SFU), the suspect has confessed to the crime, but pleaded to be given time to return the funds.<\/p>\n<p>The SFU said some of the properties and items purchased with the diverted funds have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/gist\/2021\/05\/21\/some-lecturers-students-are-after-me-former-ebsu-lawsan-president-cries-out-after-being-accused-of-fraud\/\">recovered<\/a> from him, and he will be charged at the Federal High Court soon.<\/p>\n<p>Only months ago, Ngene, was featured in a business publication and a glowing piece was written about him.
