Suspected ritualists have abandoned a 17-year-old girl identified simply as Victory, over strange mark at Ugbolu in the Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

It was gathered that the teenager was declared missing four days earlier after three men bundled her inside a tricycle and zoomed off.

The Delta State Child Rights Implementation Committee, on Tuesday, said the missing girl was later found.

The Chairman of the committee and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs Kevwe Agas, who confirmed the development, said her abductors abandoned her.

She said, “The girl was found at Ugbolu in the Oshimili North council area, where she was abandoned by her abductors who claimed they couldn’t use her for rituals because of a mark on her body.

“When we get the news of the missing child, committee members swung into action by making contacts and reaching out to strategic security partners to help find the girl. It was cheering when she was found.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, said he was not aware of the incident.
