President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has affirmed his administration’s commitment to confronting Nigeria’s challenges head-on, stating that they will not avoid their responsibilities.

Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony for seven newly appointed ministers at the Presidential Villa’s Banquet Hall, Tinubu reassured the nation that his government will tackle economic and social issues, vowing to combat profiteering and resource smuggling across the country.

“Despite the prevailing situation, we have managed to keep our heads above water,” Tinubu said. He highlighted the recent reduction in Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio from 97% to 65% and emphasized that the government has consistently met its domestic and foreign obligations.

Tinubu encouraged the new ministers, saying, “Stay focused, stay resilient. Your thanks will come with this country’s history of growth and prosperity.”

He emphasized the ministers’ role in navigating the economic recovery and assured them that their work would contribute to a better future for future generations.

The new ministers sworn in include:

  • Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction
  • Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment
  • Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs
  • Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment (Trade and Investment)
  • Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development
  • Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development
  • Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, Minister of State for Education

The President appreciated all his ministers, acknowledging the hard work already done to steer Nigeria toward economic recovery and long-term growth.
