  • The party’s formation followed the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Musk publicly vehemently opposed, citing the danger it portends for the US economy.

Controversial billionaire businessman, Elon Musk, has announced the formation of a new political party in the United States to break the Republican and Democratic hegemony.

Musk, a former ally of US President Donald Trump, said Saturday that the two major parties are two sides of the same coin, and that the America party will put an end to the country’s “one-party system.”

“When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy,” Musk, who had a bitter falling out with Trump after leading the president’s effort to slash spending and cut federal jobs, posted on X. “Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

The party’s formation followed the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Musk publicly vehemently opposed, citing the danger it portends for the US economy.

“If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day.

“Our country needs an alternative to the Democrat-Republican uniparty so that the people actually have a Voice,” he said.
