{"id":102422,"date":"2021-11-04T07:06:26","date_gmt":"2021-11-04T06:06:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=102422"},"modified":"2021-11-04T07:06:26","modified_gmt":"2021-11-04T06:06:26","slug":"we-are-building-airport-with-longest-runaway-to-boost-businesses-in-obudu-ben-ayade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/04\/we-are-building-airport-with-longest-runaway-to-boost-businesses-in-obudu-ben-ayade\/","title":{"rendered":"We are building airport with longest runaway to boost businesses in Obudu &#8211; Ben Ayade"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Cross River, Ben Ayade has stated that the ongoing construction of the airport runaway at the Obudu international passenger and cargo airport will be the longest in Nigeria when completed.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated on Wednesday by Ben Ayade during an inspection of the site<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He said the airport, situated close to the iconic Obudu mountain resort, will rank the state as a world tourism destination, adding that the federal government should come and inspect it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is why we are building the airport with 5.6 meters runway, the longest in Nigeria to enable both tourism and business thrive around the Ranch environment with the airport,\u201d\u00a0<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ayade said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cWe started March 2021, and the stage we are now is impressive with major requirements on the ground, and we are almost done in terms of other utilities like the observation tower \u2014 which is at the last stage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe firefighting and utility buildings are at the last stage, and the main terminal building is almost completed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe cutting of the hard terrain of the airport is by no means a small job, and the federal government should come and look at what we are doing with serious attention.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The governor lauded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/10\/29\/aviation-security-remains-crucial-to-combating-covid-19-in-nigeria-says-sirika\/\">Hadi Sirika<\/a>, minister of aviation, for promising to support the cargo wing of the airport with facilities when functional.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">At the inspection, Eric Akpo, senior special adviser on technical matters to the governor, said that the completion target set for April 2022 was feasible.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Cross River, Ben Ayade has stated that the ongoing construction of the airport runaway at the Obudu international passenger and cargo airport will be the longest in Nigeria when completed.
