Police personnel stationed in Anambra State for Saturday’s gubernatorial election have protested the alleged non-payment of their feeding allowance.<\/p>\n
On Friday, the policemen requested that the N10,000 allocated for their meals be paid promptly.<\/p>\n
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the cops, many of whom arrived in Anambra during the week, were not given accommodation.<\/p>\n
According to a video shared by Daily Post on Friday and monitored by WITHIN NIGERIA, policemen gathered at the Idemili Ogidi Police Division, chanting “give us our money.”<\/p>\n
\u201cHere are policemen protesting over non-payment of Election feeding allowance. 10,000 naira is the amount for feeding. Meanwhile, over three days now, no accommodation<\/a> and no food to eat. Many of the junior ranks are stranded in Idemili Ogidi Division where they received 1,500 police personnel from Lagos State,\u201d an affected senior police officer told reporters.<\/p>\n Frank Mba, the Force Public Relations Officer, did not answer calls to his phone number, neither did he reply to a message seeking his reaction to the incident.<\/p>\n Recall that the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba<\/a>, had deployed over 34,000 policemen to Anambra for the governorship election.<\/p>\n Watch video below:<\/p>\n
