The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stated that persons found enforcing the suspended sit-at-home directive in the south-east should be arrested.<\/p>\n
Recall that the\u00a0proscribed group had cancelled its planned sit-at-home scheduled to hold on Mondays across the south-east.<\/p>\n
The group had said the decision to cancel the order is to enable people of Anambra participate in the governorship election conducted on November 6, as well as to ensure that the residents of the region do not suffer.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Thursday, Emma Powerful, IPOB\u2019s spokesperson, said persons still enforcing the order are not from the group.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by our prophet and liberator Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to reiterate once again that IPOB has cancelled Monday sit-at-home order and anybody or group enforcing the relaxed order is neither from IPOB nor from IPOB volunteer group,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are advising our people to ignore anybody enforcing non-existent Monday sit-at-home order and go about their normal business, because such person(s) are working for our enemies and their intention is to blackmail IPOB and set the movement against the people, but they won\u2019t succeed.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnyone caught adding to the pain of our people in the name of enforcing Monday sit-at-home order will be treated like the enemy that he or she is.\u201d<\/p>\n
The group also said \u201cthe only day the sit-at-home will be observed in Biafra land is when our leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is appearing in court\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe hereby direct community leaders, market leaders, church leaders, and other institutions of authority in Biafra land to arrest any hoodlum trying to enforce any sit-at-home on Mondays and hand them over to IPOB.
