Akeredolu of Ondo for appointing his son as DG of PPMIU"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The People\u2019s Democratic Party, PDP, has lashed out at the Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for appointing his son, Babajide as the Director-General of Performance and Project Implementation Monitoring Unit, PPMIU.<\/p>\n<p>The Ondo state chapter of the PDP emphasised that the move signalled flagrant abuse of office on the part of the governor and an affront on the people of the state.<\/p>\n<p>WITHIN NIGERIA had reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/17\/akeredolu-nominates-14-commissioners-seven-special-advisers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Akeredolu announced Babajide\u2019s appointment<\/a> as well as the names of the 21 Commissioner-nominees and Special Advisers.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/16\/pdp-reacts-to-lagos-endsars-report-calls-apc-a-murderous-party\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PDP<\/a> Publicity Secretary in the state, Kennedy Peretei, in a statement issued on Wednesday maintained that Akeredolu had reduced governance in the state to family affairs.<\/p>\n<p>The PDP, which also stated that the development portends great danger for the state, said that the father was voted into office and not the son.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe name Babajide Akeredolu became known in Ondo State when the state\u2019s funds were used to procure a marriage for him in Colorado, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/12\/nigerians-in-uk-usa-have-enrolled-for-nin-pantami\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA<\/a>, after the same marriage was consummated in Owo, his father\u2019s birthplace.
