{"id":110420,"date":"2021-11-22T06:23:39","date_gmt":"2021-11-22T05:23:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=110420"},"modified":"2021-11-22T08:12:23","modified_gmt":"2021-11-22T07:12:23","slug":"unknown-persons-smash-skull-of-almajiri-boy-run-away-with-his-brain-in-bauchi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/22\/unknown-persons-smash-skull-of-almajiri-boy-run-away-with-his-brain-in-bauchi\/","title":{"rendered":"Bauchi: Suspected ritualist smashes skull of Almajiri boy, flee with his brain"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The skull of an 11-year-old Almajiri boy from a Qur\u2019anic school, was smashed and his brain taken away by some unknown persons in Kofar Wambai area of Bauchi metropolis.<\/p>\n<p>According to residents of the area, who pleaded not to be named, someone called two pupils, telling them that he wanted to give them something and subsequently lured them to where the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/06\/22\/unknown-person-cuts-off-7-year-old-almajiri-students-hand-in-kwara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Almajiri<\/a> boy\u2019s head was smashed with a stone.<\/p>\n<p>The residents said it was the second boy who escaped and was in shock, that narrated what happened to them, adding that they went to the scene where they saw the remains of the boy.<\/p>\n<p>They added that upon the discovery, they promptly acted by informing the police about the development.<\/p>\n<p>The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who confirmed the incident informed that a good Samaritan reported the incident to the police.<\/p>\n<p>Wakil said; \u201cPolice received a distress call from a good Samaritan that an unknown person had used a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/08\/nta-staff-stoned-to-death-in-kogi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stone<\/a> to break the skull of the Almajiri pupil.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe two Qur\u2019anic school pupils, Muhammad Yunusa -11 years and Aminu Yusuf -12 years old were deceived by unknown persons who used that stone to break the skull of Yunusa and ran to unknown destination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The PPRO informed that upon the receipt of the distress call, police personnel immediately mobilized to the scene of the crime, where they met Yunus lying in the pool of his blood.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey (police) took him to the Bauchi Specialist Hospital, Bauchi, where a medical doctor certified him dead,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Wakil explained that the state Commissioner of Police, Sylvester Abiodun Alabi, had directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of \u201cA\u201d Division to act on the case with immediate effect.<\/p>\n<p>He added that CP Alabi further directed that no stone must be left unturned in arresting the perpetrators of the act in order to bring them to book.<\/p>\n<p>The PPRO then advised parents and guardians to always monitor the movement of their children and wards, adding that, \u201cthey should not allow them to answer calls from strangers in the name of giving them something.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The skull of an 11-year-old Almajiri boy from a Qur\u2019anic school, was smashed and his brain taken away by some unknown persons in Kofar Wambai area of Bauchi metropolis.
