{"id":110957,"date":"2021-11-23T07:35:31","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T06:35:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=110957"},"modified":"2021-11-23T07:35:31","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T06:35:31","slug":"oyetola-releases-fresh-n708m-to-pay-pensions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/23\/oyetola-releases-fresh-n708m-to-pay-pensions\/","title":{"rendered":"Oyetola releases fresh N708m to pay pensions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, has released the N708 million to pay pensions of retirees in the state.<\/p>\n<p>The head of service, Dr. Festus Oyebade, who disclosed this yesterday restated the administration\u2019s commitment to the people\u2019s welfare, mustered to give workers the pride of place they deserve.<\/p>\n<p>A breakdown of the fund released indicates that the sum of N508 million was approved to pay <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/08\/nitel-mtel-pensioners-write-buhari-over-77-months-arrears\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pensions<\/a> of retired civil servants under the old pension scheme, while the sum of N150 million was approved to pay selected retirees \u201cbased on merit\u201d, under the contributory pensions scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Also, the total sum of N50 million will be used to offset part of the gratuities of retired officers under the old pension\u2019s scheme.<\/p>\n<p>The statement noted that the list of names of the selected retirees has been posted on the notice boards of the Ministry of Information and Civil Orientation; State Pensions Bureau and the Office of the Head of Service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRetirees are enjoined to check their names on the boards as payment starts on Tuesday, 23 November, 2021,\u201d the statement reads in part.<\/p>\n<p>The administration has been consistent in the release of fund for payment of pensions yet, the affected people are also clamouring for the payment of backlog of gratuities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, has released the N708 million to pay pensions of retirees in the state.
