{"id":111063,"date":"2021-11-23T12:27:23","date_gmt":"2021-11-23T11:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=111063"},"modified":"2021-11-23T12:27:23","modified_gmt":"2021-11-23T11:27:23","slug":"notorious-fraudster-sends-rags-tattered-mosquito-nets-to-woman-who-ordered-textile-materials-online-in-kano","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/23\/notorious-fraudster-sends-rags-tattered-mosquito-nets-to-woman-who-ordered-textile-materials-online-in-kano\/","title":{"rendered":"Notorious fraudster sends rags, tattered mosquito nets to woman who ordered textile materials online in Kano"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Suspected notorious fraudster, Aliyu Hussaini, who sent rags and tattered mosquito nets to a customer after she ordered 14 textile materials worth N100,000 online has been arrested by the police.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson of the Kanos State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, said 37 other persons have lodged complaints against the 25-year-old suspect for defrauding them in guise of selling fabrics.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On the 09\/11\/2021 at about 0900hrs, a report was received from a woman, &#8216;f&#8217;, of Yelwa Shandam, Plateau State, that one Facebook user with account name &#8220;Aliyu Hussaini Salisu&#8221;, &#8216;m&#8217;, displayed Textile materials such Lace, &#8220;Shadda&#8221;, etc and advertise in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/19\/three-nigerians-arrested-for-using-fake-facebook-profile-to-defraud-female-doctor-of-n7-5m-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook<\/a> page for sale,&#8221; the PPRO stated.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;She ordered for fourteen (14) different textile materials at One Hundred Thousand Naira (N100,000:00) and sent the money through Unguwa Uku Motor Park Kano. But, instead of sending the materials, he packaged rag and tattered Mosquito Nets and sent to her.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-111066 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/kunlenet07\/2021\/11\/23\/Aliyu-Hussaini-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"715\" height=\"909\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/kunlenet07\/2021\/11\/23\/Aliyu-Hussaini-3.jpg 715w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/kunlenet07\/2021\/11\/23\/Aliyu-Hussaini-3-236x300.jpg 236w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 715px) 100vw, 715px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Upon receiving the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama&#8217;ila Shu&#8217;aibu Dikko, fsi, raised and instructed a team of detectives led by DSP Mutari Jibrin Dawanau to arrest the culprit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The team immediately swung into action and arrested the suspect, one Aliyu Hussaini, &#8216;m&#8217;, 25 years old, of Hotoro Quarters Kano, at Unguwa Uku Motor Park, Kano,&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was caught in possession of a Laptop Computer and a Mobile Phone while trying to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/23\/romance-scam-nigerian-man-sentenced-to-10-years-imprisonment-for-defrauding-65-year-old-woman-in-guyana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">defraud<\/a> another suspecting victim.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-111065 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/kunlenet07\/2021\/11\/23\/Aliyu-Hussaini.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"540\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/kunlenet07\/2021\/11\/23\/Aliyu-Hussaini.jpg 540w, https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/5\/2021\/11\/kunlenet07\/2021\/11\/23\/Aliyu-Hussaini-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 540px) 100vw, 540px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>During interrogation, the suspect revealed he specialized in using WhatsApp and Facebook to advertise Textile Materials, collect people&#8217;s money and then either block their social media accounts\/phone numbers or send tattered rags to them.<\/p>\n<p>He also confessed to have applied the same method to defraud about 37 people from different parts of the country, especially females that have passion for designed materials.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;After his arrest, Thirty Seven (37) persons have lodged complaints and reported that the suspect defrauded them the sum of One Million and Fourteen Thousand Naira (N1,014,000.00).
