{"id":113966,"date":"2021-11-30T04:31:21","date_gmt":"2021-11-30T03:31:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=113966"},"modified":"2021-11-30T04:31:21","modified_gmt":"2021-11-30T03:31:21","slug":"father-grandfather-arrested-for-allegedly-raping-13-year-old-daughter-in-osun","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/30\/father-grandfather-arrested-for-allegedly-raping-13-year-old-daughter-in-osun\/","title":{"rendered":"Father, grandfather arrested for allegedly raping 13-year-old daughter in Osun"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two persons, a father and a grandfather, have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly raping their 13-year-old daughter\/granddaughter in Osun State.<\/p>\n<p>The command\u2019s Spokesperson, Mr Adigun Daniel, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Osogbo on Monday, said that the suspects were arrested on Friday, upon the confession of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/29\/man-sentenced-to-10-years-imprisonment-for-raping-3-year-old-girl-in-sokoto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">girl<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe corps received a tip-off from an informant who disclosed that the girl opened up to her that the grandfather and father have been having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/09\/12\/beninese-woman-gives-birth-to-three-children-for-biological-son-in-kwara\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">canal knowledge<\/a> of her.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe corps immediately swung to action and arrested the father.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon investigation, the girl said that her father had been canal knowledge of her since two years ago. She also said that she had been living with her maternal grandmother at the age of three before she was taken to her paternal grandfather at the age of five.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe said that her father and mother are separated and that was why she was entrusted in the care of her grandparents at different times.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe girl also stated that at some point, she was molested by her grandfather but she could not stick to her allegation, owing to the fact that she was still living with him,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/11\/29\/nscdc-saves-2-suspects-from-angry-mob-in-ilorin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NSCDC<\/a> spokesman said.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, added that both the father and the grandfather had denied having canal knowledge of the girl.<\/p>\n<p>Daniel said that the corps had given custody of the girl to the state Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, pending the conclusion of investigation on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman quoted NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Emmanuel Ocheja as saying that the girl was psychologically disturbed to give a vivid account of her ordeal, adding, however, that with tact, the corps would scoop out useful information to help her.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two persons, a father and a grandfather, have been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for allegedly raping their 13-year-old daughter\/granddaughter in Osun State.
