{"id":11488,"date":"2021-03-22T04:59:07","date_gmt":"2021-03-22T03:59:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/?p=11488"},"modified":"2021-03-22T04:59:07","modified_gmt":"2021-03-22T03:59:07","slug":"photos-nelson-mandelas-once-elegant-house-now-an-abandoned-eyesore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/22\/photos-nelson-mandelas-once-elegant-house-now-an-abandoned-eyesore\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos: Nelson Mandela&#8217;s once elegant house now an abandoned eyesore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former South African President, Nelson Mandela\u2019s once-elegant house in Johannesburg is now an abandoned eyesore.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sunday Times, the house at 12th Avenue on Houghton home in Johannesburg became what it is now after Rolihlahla Mandela (NRM) Family Trust stopped paying the utility bills.<\/p>\n<p>The once-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/19\/fani-kayode-is-a-paranoid-soul-he-chased-me-around-the-house-with-knife-former-cook\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">elegant house<\/a>, which hosted some of the world&#8217;s leading figures while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.withinnigeria.com\/news\/2021\/03\/19\/tanzania-announces-burial-arrangements-for-former-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">former president<\/a> was alive, was until last year occupied by Mandela\u2019s grandchildren, Ndaba, Mbuso and Andile, who are the sons of the late Makgatho Mandela.
