Thirteen suspected thugs (Yan Daba) have been arrested in connection with attack on the campaign office of Barau Jibril, the Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that hundreds of thugs armed with dangerous weapons<\/a>, invaded Jibril’s campaign office along Maiduguri Road and vandalised part of the building, furniture and billboards.<\/p>\n

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, said the arrest followed the instruction of the state Commissioner of Police, Sama\u2019ila Shu\u2019aibu-Dikko, to teams of Operation Puff Adder, which moved to the scene and restored normalcy.<\/p>\n

Haruna-Kiyawa said large quantity of dangerous weapons, illicit drugs<\/a>, charms and other items were recovered during the operation.<\/p>\n

“Today, 02\/12\/2021 at about 0800hrs, a report was received that, thugs<\/a> (Yan Daba) carrying dangerous weapons were sighted attacking and vandalizing the office of Senator Barau Jibrin, Senator representing Kano North Senatorial District along Maiduguri Road Kano,” he stated.<\/p>\n

“On the receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama\u2019ila Shu\u2019aibu Dikko, fsi raised and instructed teams of Operation Puff Adder to move to the scene, restore normalcy and arrest the culprits.<\/p>\n

“The teams immediately swung in to action. Thirteen (13) suspected thugs (Yan Daba) were arrested and the following exhibits recovered from them:<\/p>\n

i. 34 Dangerous Weapons<\/p>\n

ii. 23 Clubs (Gora)<\/p>\n

iii. 2 Gallons of Suspected PMS (Petrol)<\/p>\n

iv. 1 Parcel and 30 Pieces of Dried Leaves Suspected to be Indian Hemp<\/p>\n

v. 24 Sachets of Diazapam Tablets<\/p>\n

vi. 4 Pieces of Red Sun Solution<\/p>\n

vii. 1 Mobile Phone<\/p>\n

viii. 2 Ceiling Fans<\/p>\n

ix. Bunch of Charms.<\/p>\n

“Normalcy was immediately restored and situation under control. Investigation has commenced and suspects will be charged to court for prosecution.<\/p>\n

“The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama\u2019ila Shu\u2019aibu Dikko, fsi warns that, criminals will have no hiding place in Kano State. They are advised to either repent or leave the State completely. Otherwise, they will be arrested and face the full wrath of Law, the statement reads.<\/p>\n

“He thanked the good people of Kano State for their prayers, encouragement, continuous support and cooperation. He urged residents to pray for the State, the Nation and report incidences to the nearest Police Station and not to take laws into their hands.
